FAQs About Personal Coaching

What does personal coaching mean?

The relationship between a qualified professional and another individual or a group of individuals can be defined as coaching. Pre-determined goals are achieved through coaching. People are enabled to concentrate on their skills, talents and inner resources through coaching. This enhances the personal and professional lives of those coached.

Who needs personal coaching?

We all have our goals in life. To achieve these goals, you need to identify areas where you are weak and this will become easier if you get a third person's opinion. Once you have identified the weak areas, you can make a list of your expectations and get outside help to achieve your goals. This will enable you to decide if you need to be coached.

What advantages does personal coaching have?

Coaching enables you to see things better, make better decisions and enhances your ability to think. Improved interpersonal relations and increased self-confidence are direct outcomes of effective coaching. Coaching brings new insights into the various aspects of your personal and professional life, thus increasing your productivity to new levels. A satisfied personal and professional life are usually what follow.

What are the reasons for this tremendous growth of the coaching industry?

Self-employment and small and medium sized businesses have grown in recent years throwing up new challenges in personal and professional lives. Vast changes have been witnessed in the professional worlds as well. Terms of employment too have changed drastically. In this changed environment, coaching has proved to be an effective method to tackle the challenges thrown up by the changes.

Why personal coaching?

Ignorance about how to go about achieving goals, low self confidence, inadequate interpersonal skills and the inability to source relevant information are all causes that makes one want to consider being coached. Life changing situations that force a new start, the need to speed up the rate of accomplishing tasks and the need for change in personal styles are all reasons for considering personal coaching.

You probably have additional questions about personal coaching and how it can benefit you personally. If you do, the best course of action is for you to begin to interview personal coaches since this is something you will need to undertake anyway in order to find one you wish to work with. In your interview, you can clarify any further questions you may have and ultimately decide if personal coaching will benefit you. You will probably need to weigh the benefits against the cost to arrive at your decision. Remember that coaches with different specialties will carry different price tags. For example, a business coach will usually charge the highest fees. The answers to some questions will best be answered by the personal coach himself during your interview process.
